THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF MUSIC: A CONVERSATION WITH TOLGA AYKUT

ON MUSIC AND THE DIGITAL WORLD WITH TOLGA AYKUT

We had an enjoyable conversation with Tolga Aykut, one of the shining stars in the world of music and digital content. In addition to music, Mr. Tolga is involved in various fields such as filmmaking, the advertising industry, and hospitality. He shared with us the ins and outs of the industry and the effects of digital transformation. Here is this exciting interview.

-HELLO, TOLGA AYKUT, WELCOME.

TOLGA AYKUT: Hello, welcome.

-CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

TOLGA AYKUT: I'm 31 years old. I am a music producer, and at the same time, we make films, work in the advertising industry, and are involved in the hospitality business. Currently, we are at Be Plato's prison, shooting a music video for Burak Bulut and Kurtuluş Kuş.

-HOW ARE THE SHOOTINGS GOING?

TOLGA AYKUT: It's going very well, as we have a lot of confidence in this song. We love the Be Plato studio and have shot many of our music videos here. This song is special to us; we prepared it for June, and we've already shot the music video. I believe this song will be heard a lot throughout the summer.

-IS YOUR SONG CALLED "İKİLİ," ISN'T IT?

TOLGA AYKUT: Yes, that's correct. Our song is called "İkili." It's a very enjoyable song.

-WHAT WAS THE ATMOSPHERE LIKE ON THE SET TODAY, IN YOUR OPINION?

TOLGA AYKUT: Our sets are generally more fun and relaxed compared to others. At one point, we were playing soccer with our crew. We work more efficiently when it's more enjoyable. Also, since we shoot 20-25 music videos a year, making the set enjoyable is important. Today's team consists of both this duo's own team and our team.

-WHAT DO YOU THINK CAUSED PROBLEMS BETWEEN THEM?

TOLGA AYKUT: They are different artists producing different music genres. Initially, they didn't like each other much, and there were constant issues. This led to problems with tone and angles. But now, they have become a great duo by overcoming these issues.

-WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGING ASPECTS OF YOUR PROFESSION?

TOLGA AYKUT: The most challenging aspect is external factors and the difficulties created by people who envy your success. Additionally, the job of the laborers working on the set is really tough, as with challenges encountered in every industry.

-WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON YOUR INDUSTRY?

TOLGA AYKUT: Social media has had a significant impact on our industry and has provided us with many opportunities. We used Social Media as a starting point, and everyone has a chance to join this competition. This offers a great opportunity for talented individuals to enter the music industry.

-DID YOU THINK YOU WOULD COME THIS FAR WHEN STARTING THIS JOB?

TOLGA AYKUT: Initially, we advanced with the belief that digital would transform many industries. We see ourselves as digital content producers, and we foresaw this transformation from the beginning. Getting to this point is a great achievement for us.

-WELL, TOLGA, THANK YOU FOR THE INTERVIEW.
